Onward and Upward

Celebrate

I love this picture, it’s exactly what I’d like to be doing right now. I’m doing it on the inside though 🙂 On Friday I received the best news I’ve had in a long time. A new job!!!

A while ago I blogged about how I decided what I wanted to do with my life things were coming together. I’ve been wanting to go into soft skills training and I’ve some people who had good advice for me. It’s expensive to train though so I convinced my boss to send me for training in our Learning & Development department within my firm. He agreed and I was on top of the world.

I called one of my connections that department, a lady who had given me some advise previously and she told me of a role that was currently open in the department. They were close to making an offer to a candidate but she urged me to apply anyway. I did and I was called for an interview. then I was called for a second interview with the Director of the department. Then I got called for references and the next day I was offered the position! Can you imagine my excitement?

I resigned immediately and I’ve already started the process of hand over. I’ll be leaving my current department in a few weeks. I can’t believe how it all worked out. Once I set my mind to it everything came together.

I’m also happy to get out of the PA role, I’ve enjoyed but it is a seriously under appreciated job in my current organisation. This specialist role that I’m going into will be a huge learning curve but I’ll enjoy and I’ll have scope for growth. Plus I still get my normal working hours, little traveling time and flexibility with regards to my coming and going. What could be better?

happy dance time!
